On October 2nd, Pat and Jed Conran were commissioned as our parish pro-life representatives by Archbishop Henry Mansell during the Celebration of Life Mass here at the Cathedral.
There are a lot of ways to participate in the pro-life cause – March for Life in Washington DC, 40 Days for Life Campaign, meeting with state legislators, writing to Congressional representatives, attending pro-life conferences, distributing educational materials, talking to friends and family, telephone campaigns, peaceful protest in front of abortion clinics, organizing a parish committee and activities, praying the Rosary, Eucharistic Adoration, personal prayer – Pat and Jed have done it all. And they are not done!
Archbishop Mansell is a regular participant in the March for Life in Washington, DC, and he celebrates Mass with a large Connecticut contingent prior to the rally and march. At the end of Mass he reminds everyone that what we do, we do “always with kindness”. Pat and Jed have been faithful to Archbishop Mansell’s call for Christian compassion in our public protest for the protection of life. Life is precious. Life, from the moment of conception until natural death, is sacred.
