40 Days for Life

40 Days for Life Vigil

The Cathedral of St Joseph Pro Life Committee and parish family is once again participating in a Archdiocese wide 40 Days for Life campaign. This coming Wednesday, September 28, there will be a 24 hour Eucharistic Adoration Vigil beginning immediately following the 7:30 AM Mass celebrated by Archbishop Henry Mansell. Many parishioners have already signed up to spend an hour in prayer in the presence of The Blessed Sacrament. There is always room for one more, so please consider coming to pray with us for the dignity of life.

Others from the parish will be participating in a peaceful and prayerful vigil outside of the Hartford abortion clinic on 1 Main Street.  The public prayer vigil begins at 6:00 AM and ends at 6:00 PM. Fewer people have signed up for the public demonstration for protecting the sanctity of life, and so your volunteering would be a great blessing.

Also, our own Monsignor David Liptak will be giving a talk on the dignity of the human person at 12 Noon on Wednesday. For those of you who may not know, Monsignor Liptak is one of the founding members and current director of the Pope John Paul II Bioethics Center at Holy Apostles College & Seminary. Nationally renowned, the center provides authentic Catholic teaching on bioethic issues, from technological reproduction to end-of-life issues.

NOTE: There is NO 12:10 PM Mass on Wednesday, September 28.
